Mac App Uninstaller
Uninstallzy
See every app you can remove, and send it to Trash with one calm confirmation.
Uninstallzy lists the apps on your Mac with their real size on disk, so the big ones stand out. Pick one, confirm once, and it moves to the Trash. You can put it back until you empty Trash.
Built by Elegantmac. Works on macOS 15 Sequoia or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
What it does
- See every app. Everything in your Applications folders, including apps inside vendor folders such as Adobe or Microsoft, with size, version and last-modified date.
- Find things fast. Search by name, bundle ID or path. Sort by name, size or last modified. Filter by running, App Store or your own apps.
- One calm confirmation. Every uninstall shows a sheet with the app, its size and its location. Cancel is the default button, so pressing Return is always the safe choice.
- Remove several at once. Choose up to 10 apps, confirm once, and they move to Trash one at a time. If any app can't be moved, Uninstallzy stops there and leaves the rest untouched.
- Trash, not gone. Apps go to the macOS Trash. Uninstallzy never deletes permanently and never empties Trash.
- Polite with running apps. It asks a running app to quit. It never force-quits. If the app stays open, nothing is removed.
- Honest about what's left. It tells you how much space you'll free once you empty Trash. After an uninstall it can show, in Finder, the folders an app left behind in your Library, so you decide what to do with them. Uninstallzy never removes them.
- Clear help when something won't move. If an app needs administrator rights, such as some Adobe apps, Uninstallzy says so, opens it in Finder for you, and for Adobe apps points you to Adobe Creative Cloud. If it's still stuck, one click opens a ready-to-send email to support.
- A pause switch. One setting turns off every Uninstall button.
How it works
- 1Choose. Select an app in the list, or press Select to tick several.
- 2Confirm. Read the sheet and press Uninstall.
- 3Done. The app is in Trash. Open Trash and choose Put Back if you change your mind.
Private by design
Uninstallzy does not use the network. It has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking, and it never sends your app list or file names anywhere. It installs no helpers, login items or background agents.
What it does not do
- It does not remove documents, settings, caches or helper files an app created. It removes only the app itself.
- It does not list macOS system apps, symlinked apps (such as most Homebrew installs) or apps on external drives.
- It cannot move apps installed with administrator rights. It tells you and opens them in Finder.
- It does not clean storage, scan for junk or run in the background.
- It cannot cancel a subscription or an account you have with an app's maker.
Permissions
macOS may ask for App Management permission the first time you uninstall an app. It lets Uninstallzy move an app out of Applications. If you say no, nothing is removed, and the app shows you how to turn it on in System Settings, Privacy & Security, App Management. Uninstallzy does not ask for Full Disk Access, Accessibility or anything else.

Questions
- Where does an app go when I uninstall it?
- To the macOS Trash. Open Trash and choose Put Back to restore it. Uninstallzy never empties Trash.
- Does it remove an app's settings and caches?
- No. It removes only the app. The confirmation sheet says so before you confirm.
- Why can't it remove some apps?
- Apps installed with administrator rights belong to another account, and macOS won't let Uninstallzy move them. Uninstallzy says so and opens the app in Finder, where you can right-click it and choose Move to Trash. For Adobe apps, Adobe Creative Cloud's own uninstall also removes Adobe's helper files.
- Why does macOS ask about App Management?
- macOS asks before any app changes another app. Allow Uninstallzy under System Settings, Privacy & Security, App Management.
- What if the app I want to remove is open?
- Uninstallzy asks it to quit and waits up to five seconds. If it stays open, nothing moves.
- Does Uninstallzy send any data?
- No. The app does not use the network. Links and email drafts open in your browser and mail app only when you click them.
- How do I stop it from uninstalling anything?
- Turn off "Allow Uninstallzy to uninstall apps" in Settings (⌘,).
- How do I update?
- Download the latest version from this page. Uninstallzy does not update itself. Future versions may be available to existing customers, but that isn't guaranteed.
- How do I remove Uninstallzy?
- Drag it to Trash. It stores two preferences (the pause switch, and whether the welcome screen was shown) in
~/Library/Preferences/com.elegantmac.uninstallzy.plist, which you can delete too. - I need help.
- Email support@elegantmac.com. In the app, choose Help in the sidebar.
